process

ps
It will display currently active services

ps

ps -aux
It will display Processes

ps -aux

pidof firefox
It will display pid number of firefox

pidof

top
It will display running processes on the Linux machine

top

ps -ux
It will display processes running under a user

ps  -ux

ps -A
It will lists all processes running on your system

ps -A

ps -A | grep firefox
It will display particular process in system

ps -ef

pstree
It will display another way of visualizing processes

kill PID
It will kill pid process

kill 9

pgrep firefox
pgrep returns the process IDs

pgrep

pkill (or) killall
Commands can kill a process

pkill

renice 19 PID
Process run with very low priority

renice

xkill
It will kill graphical programs

xkill
